Gucci Mane has been sentenced to a year in prison for parole violation.
Reps from his label told MTV News that the rapper was taken away in handcuffs this afternoon. He was sentenced to 12 months in prison for not completing 600 hours of court-ordered community service. He’s had the order since 2005.
But there is a chance that Gucci may only have to serve half of that sentence.
This news comes just weeks before the release of his album, The State Vs. Radrick Davis, which is slated to drop on December 8. His current single, Spotlight, features Usher and the video is garnering a lot of attention because of his leading lady Bria Murphy.

Soul Train Awards started off this year with a toast @ JUSTINS(P.Diddy’s restaurent). I caught up with the NEW OWNERS and they are excited to have this event in atlanta for the first time. MadVision Entertainment has bought the Soul Train franchise from its founder, Don Cornelius, and plans to breathe new life into it. The plan is to open up the shows archives for older consumers as well as to create a new version of the program for younger ones.
